Your children will love attending our weekend experiences that are designed just for kids their age. Kids Church and Little Kids Church are held during the 9:00 and 10:45 Sunday morning services.
Little Kids Church, is for children who turned 3 years old before September 1, 2011 and children who are in preschool or Kindergarten.
Kids Church is for children in 1st – 4th grade. Each program incorporates small group activities and large group teaching and worship designed for their own learning styles and maturity.
What to Expect: As children arrive, activity stations are ready to pique their curiosity and allow them to engage in hands-on experiences as we begin our time together. When everyone has arrived, we move into large group settings and participate in discovering God’s Word through storytelling, worship, music and interactive experiences. Back in their small groups, children have an opportunity to reflect on what they have heard, and to respond to God in different ways. This time is focused on the wonder of God and the Truth of His Word. It is our hope that the kids will respond to who God is and what He has done rather than simply understand the events recorded in the Bible. Parents are invited into the classroom at the end of the service to participate in the blessing. This is a time for us to speak truth over children’s lives. The idea of the blessing is to transition the child from being blessed to being a blessing. This is the time we remind children that they can freely give away the joy, love, truth, and grace they have received from God.
Missions: This year our children will be collecting money to purchase goats for our brothers and sisters in a small village, Mugina, in Rwanda, Africa. Harvest’s ongoing mission efforts in Mugina have begun to reach many people with God’s love and provision. In previous years, the children raised money to purchase bee hives, school supplies, flip-flops and blankets for our friends there. We pray for them each week, and they pray for us, too.
Other weekend programs for children:
Infant and Toddler care is offered at all weekend worship services.
A Sunday School class is offered for 5th and 6th graders at the 9:00 Sunday service.
On Saturday evening, childcare is offered for infants - 4 years olds, and Exploration Station is available for children ages 5-9.
